UTM ARCHITECTURE STUDENTS SOARS AT THE NIPPON PAINT ASIAN YOUNG DESIGNERS AWARD (AYDA) 2019

The Asia Young Designer Awards (“AYDA”), organised by the Nippon Paint Malaysia Group in partnership with IJM Land Berhad has successfully announced the winners at the ALoft KL Sentral, Kuala Lumpur. AYDA is a platform that exposes students to experience the challenges in the design boundaries and contextual issues in the architecture and interior design fields. The theme for this year’s AYDA is “Forward: A Sustainable Future”, which challenges the next generation of architects and interior designers to break the boundaries of current design concepts by immersing their creations with functional and social sustainability elements in an effort to connect with the community.

Xu Lexiang- Winner of Asia Young Designer Competition

We are proud of Asia Young Designer Competition’s (AYDA) Malaysian Winner (interior design group) Xu Lexiang.

He said that the road to realizing his dreams may be tortuous, but as long as he thought of not giving up, he will eventually go where he wants to go.

Nippon Paint Young Designer Award (AYDA) was first launched in 2008 to nurture the future generation of Malaysia. We provide platform to the young talents in the field of interior design and architecture.

In Search of Next Asia Young Designer Competition- Join Us!

The search starts for the next Asia Young Designer Competition 2019 in Malaysia to nurture and empower the young talents.

The event is organized by Nippon Paint Malaysia Group in collaboration with IJM Land Bhd, and the theme for this year’s AYDA is “Forward: A Sustainable Future”, which aims to challenge the next generation architects and interior designers to set up the new benchmark of current design concept.

In the above snap, you can see Wong (sixth from right) and Chong (ninth from right) alongside industry captains from the design sphere at the launch of the Asia Young Designer Competition/ Awards 2019 themed ‘Forward: A Sustainable Future’.

At the recent AYDA 2018/19 held in conjunction with the 11th edition of AYDA International Summit, two Malaysians were recognized for their outstanding talents, winning the award for “Best Design Impact” for both the interior design and architecture categories.

Loo Yi from Universiti Malaya (architecture category) and Zachary Khaw Lit Siang from Taylor’s University (interior design category) each took home US$1,000 (RM4,100).
